There is nothing more frustrating than a production line grinding to a halt because another tube just burnt out. If you’re swapping these out every few weeks, you might think it’s a voltage spike or a power issue. But usually? It’s just wear and tear. The constant heating and cooling basically beats the lamp to death. We decided to fix that by building a reinforced infrared lamp. It’s a drop-in replacement, but it’s built to actually survive a high-cycle environment. Why standard lamps keep quitting Most PC preform lamps give up the ghost at the pinch seal or where the electrode hits. Why? Because the metal and glass expand and contract at different rates, and eventually, something snaps. We changed the internal guts. We toughened up the quartz envelope and dialed in the filament tension so the lamps can handle the vibrations of a high-speed blowing machine without cracking. Getting the heat right Working with PC (polycarbonate) is a different beast than PET. You can’t just blast the surface; you need that heat to punch through the thicker walls to get the core soft. Our lamps are designed for high wattage density. They hit that softening point fast, so your cycle times stay where they need to be. One quick heads-up: these lamps put out a lot of heat. Make sure your cooling blowers are actually clean and doing their job. If they’re clogged, you’re risking warped reflectors, and nobody wants to deal with that. Easy swap, better parts You won’t need to rewire anything. We used industry-standard connectors, so you just pop the old one out and slide the new one in. We also spent a lot of time on the metallurgy of the contacts. Cheap, wholesale lamps often arc at the base, which kills the tube prematurely. We fixed that. Stop playing whack-a-mole with your oven bank. Switching to a reinforced lamp means less downtime and a lot less stress for whoever has to maintain the line.
