That’s why we built our replacement lamps for the SIG Blomax 10 to be simple “drop-in” parts. You pop the old ones out, slide these in, and you’re back in business. They use shortwave infrared tech, which is just a fancy way of saying they get your preforms up to temperature in a heartbeat. Let’s talk power. If your heat isn’t distributed just right, you end up with thin spots in your bottle walls. That’s a nightmare for quality control. We make sure our lamps match the original wattage and voltage perfectly. By using high-voltage setups, we can cram more energy into a smaller tube. This is how you get those fast cycle times without sacrificing quality. Just a heads-up: double-check that your power controllers are calibrated. If you push too much voltage through, you’ll fry the filament, and that’s just throwing money away. The nitty-gritty on the build We use heavy-wall quartz glass for a reason. When things get screaming hot, cheap glass sags. Ours doesn’t. Depending on which version of the oven you’re running, you’ll likely need R7s or SK15 connectors. We’re obsessive about the fit here. If a pin is off by even a fraction of a millimeter, you’ll start seeing arcing at the socket—and that’s a sound you never want to hear in a plant. Plus, we added a special coating to the quartz. It bounces the heat inward toward the preform instead of letting it bleed out into the machine. It’s a simple tweak that saves a lot of electricity. Putting them to work Since we standardized the length and the electrical bits, these fit about 95% of the blowing machines out there. No modifications. No drilling. No stress. One thing to keep in mind: these are high-output lamps. They’re going to make the inside of your oven feel like a sauna. If you’re pushing the wattage to the limit, take a quick look at your cooling fans. You want to make sure your reflector housings don’t warp from the heat.
