
On a blow molding line, the heating tunnel is where it all starts. If preforms come out of that tunnel with uneven heat, you’re looking at weak necks, blown shoulders, or crystallized walls. Then the scrap pile climbs and the line starts to choke. We built the 600mm infrared heating tube to match that reality—so you can hit repeatable heat instead of chasing hot spots all day.
What matters under the hood
This is a 600mm infrared emitter made for the heating tunnel: quartz envelope, halogen filament, and an R7s connector that drops straight into standard holders. The length covers the full preform heating zone without gaps, and the output is tuned to respond fast—temperature climbs quickly, then holds steady through the blow molder’s cycle. We put each tube through OEM-aligned checks: filament alignment, quartz thickness, seal integrity, and calibrated spectral output. In practice, that means less drift over long runs and fewer sudden swings in bottle wall distribution.
Why this length makes sense on the line
In stretch blow molding, the heat profile has to be consistent shot after shot. A 600mm tube gives you a stable heat band across the preform, which supports uniform stretch and cuts down on pinholes, flash, and weight variation. That adds up to fewer rejected crates, less rework, and more uptime. Energy use drops, too, because the tube heats on demand and holds temperature without overshoot. The shop-floor details that bite you
Installation is straightforward, but the heating tunnel is a harsh environment. Keep the reflector clean and aligned—even a small shadow creates a cold zone. Also check holder contact and voltage at the terminal; loose connections are a fast track to premature failures. Plan replacement around lamp hours and keep a spare on hand. Swapping at the first sign of output drift keeps the line from stopping mid-shift.
